We, all...From AD MELIORA

continued from earlier...
We, all, the young and the old, we all know that one cannot tear off those pages of history you had all written between the 60s,70s and 80s off the Romanian History book and whether or not any of the denim generations had long walked away from Paunescu for different reasons and out of different more or less informed interpretations and decisions, that has less relevance nowadays because Adrian Paunescu's name will forever remain engraved onto millions of hearts as a light when it was most needed both in the past and in the recent years, regardless of whether some are not yet ready to open up their hearts and admit to that. I need to tell you something Mr. Dancu, that if there has been anything at all that has lit up my life away from Romania and has kept my trust and love for Romania alive, that has been Adrian Paunescu and Octavian Paler’s contemporary work. Their voices reached deep into my heart. They had views, they were not passive, they were alive and made me feel alive, and they had no bone of evil in them. Historically it is my humble stand that their views had been perpetually developing and taking a turn for the better, and not for the worse, like true sculptors who had both the marble and the talent to turn their material into eternity, through a lifelong process of becoming more analytical, much wiser and redemptive with the passage of time.

What are many of the political impostors and many of the smallish journalists in Romania? My humble opinion: dust in the wind, or to make a different visual analogy - dogs barking up the wrong trees to stir up the vulnerable masses and divert their attention from the relevant thing. I am sick to my stomach, Mr. Dancu, when I look at basescu representing the Romanian nation at European talks. He may have been elected by Romanians, but then may that have been because they must have been both misinformed and uninformed? Who is who there and what their interests are, God knows! Where is the line between the truth and the lies? The Nation sees no outcome, but government malpractice and incompetence as a whole that have long hit rock bottom. The captain and his crew have never been up to the challenge of steering the boat to safe shores, and even worse they are still there fooling the masses around, gambling away what is left of cultural values, children’s broken hearts and mothers’ last glimmer of fading hope for a better life for their children.

I must say, Mr. Dancu, your discourse is quite a mix of a wide range of figures of speech, very daring at times shifting back and forth amongst contradictory thoughts and wisdom. At times it permeates as utter confusion whereas at others it sounds very convincing.
Yet, I hope you will still remain in my book of kindred spirits. I can only hope that you are one of those who is human enough and true to himself to learn from life’s ups and downs and become better tomorrow, better than himself, the sociologist he is today.

Finally, I wish our great contemporaries, Adrian Paunescu and Octavian Paler had not left this world so early. They will forever be such kindred spirits in the Cultural and Social History of Romania, regardless of how much some would want to tear off those pages from the history book. May You Rest in Peace and May Romania be further blessed with spirits and talents like yours.

Today, on Romania National Day: Happy Birthday Romania! And May You Be Blessed with only of the Best of everything and many Kindred Spirits as sons and daughters with no bone of evil in them!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304629176803762856.post-56741236608853063892010-12-01T00:24:56.449-08:002010-12-01T00:24:56.449-08:00from AD MELIORA
We have read your article again a...from AD MELIORA

We have read your article again and I need to further say, Mr. Dancu, that those pages of communism do irrevocably belong to History, a history every one of you born specifically between 1918-1965 in Romania let so be written. Sadly, whether you all like it or not, every one of you born and brought up in those times had their part of contribution to sustaining that regime in their own ways: either by coming to terms with it, or by agreeing, or tacitly disagreeing, or by just blindly or reluctantly doing what you were told, or by shifting from one view to another after never-ending progressive and regressive analyses and rhetorical questions. I regret to say but, you all those born between those years seem to have left the younger generations only broken pieces to pick up after the mess you all had been yourselves both individually and collectively either contributors and witnesses to. BYSTANDER EFFECT, Mr. Dancu. COLLECTIVE GUILT, BLAME AND RESPONSIBILITY, that’s what it is and nobody dares speak about that.

You, Mr. Dancu, who at least at first sight seem to be an erudite, who studied, researches and teaches in the almighty world of the Social Sciences, how long do you think, the younger generations will have the patience to watch this pathetic show of senior political impostors blaming and throwing sarcasm and biased criticism at one another in an endless pathetic inquiry about who had been more communist and more of a secret service informer than who and under what circumstances. What I see Mr. Dancu, from where I stand, is political and journalistic OBSSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER in Parliament, in the street, during political negotiations. Why is it that Romania’s politicians and many of the media people seem to have so many illusions of grandeur and so much greed in all ways imaginable along with this compulsion of incessantly needing to blame others, whoever and whatever, anyone but themselves.
I am an educator myself, Mr. Dancu, and you see should any of my disciples fail, then I shall be the one to blame, because I am the one who is supposed to be more knowledgeable about what path leads to what. My disciples and what they can learn from me, build up on that and pass on to the next generations - their success is my reward. How long do you think the younger generations, those of us in our 20s, 30s and early 40s now will have the patience to see that political and social incompetence? Young people’s patience is dissipating, Mr. Dancu, it will soon end. It will soon come a time when the younger generations will say to this government and its supporters WE’VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR TIME-WASTING AND MOCKING OTHERS.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304629176803762856.post-24218347113778255082010-11-30T03:12:51.094-08:002010-11-30T03:12:51.094-08:00from AD MELIORA
You have my respect Mr. Dancu! No...from AD MELIORA

You have my respect Mr. Dancu! No figure of speech meant here, and thank you genuinely for your article.

This is a message I had also left on another site ( one called www.badpolitics.ro which I found rather different from your blog), but I wish to post this up on your site as well, hoping that you will be kind enough to pass on my question to those it targets.

I personally wish I had the possibility to express my stand on this in a public speech so every single corner in that country can hear my view on that.

I have a high regard for this poet. And my heart bleeds every time I read negative and disgraceful comments about this great spirit's work on different blogs or in different talk shows.

I have a question for all those who have blamed this great man for whatever they’ve felt convenient for themselves at different times throughout the last several decades.

- Have any of them any idea about what "AUXESIS" means in literary studies?-
Adrian Paunescu often employed this figure of speech for rhetorical effect to subtly but strongly convey the opposite meaning. On the other hand, it seems to me that those who don't really understand his work so vehemently and so often employ "MEIOSIS" trying to undermine, understate and tarnish the power and significance of his great work and love for his country and cultural identity.

I wish every single individual read every single line of his work before rushing into making comments. How many of them honestly can speak in an informed way of his literary work and missives as driven by a political context and regime so few actually had the courage to stand up against with the power of words and intellectual mind? I wish at least some of the media would have the decency and moral obligation, at least, to run an unbiased series of talks or radio broadcasts about Paunescu's CENSORED poetic works during the late 70's and 80's.

Finally and honestly, it seems to me that some of the media people over there and politicians could do with some studies in Rhetoric, Contextual History, Social Psychology, Sociology and (Critical)Discourse Analysis, particularly Rhetoric with all its long-existing rhetorical devices and figures of speech ever employed since ancient Greece before they make a mockery of themselves.

And to Mr. Dancu, thank you for who you are.
You are in my book of kindred spirits.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3304629176803762856.post-20582251092603544222010-11-23T22:04:43.300-08:002010-11-23T22:04:43.300-08:00Să plîngi abia în 2010, pentru moartea unui poet d...Să plîngi abia în 2010, pentru moartea unui poet decedat în 1971?
